At Splash, styles are broken down into three categories: Contemporary, Transitional and Traditional.  These styles sometimes refer to the door style of cabinetry, but also consider the following:

Contemporary styles: offer clean, strong lines; unique, Asymmetrical shapes; Open layout; Minimal Décor; Simple Decorations; Neutral Colors; Natural Materials; Little to no moldings; sustainability and eco-friendly; and State of the Art Appliances.

Transitional style: refers to the use of elements from both Contemporary and Traditional styles. Usually neutral in color choice, incorporate textural elements (such as wood, glass, lacquer, rattan, fabric, steal and metal) and limited in use of accessories.

Traditional styles: are inspired by the 18th and 19th centuries, this style is a timeless style that incorporates classic arts, antiques, and items with history. Typically, this style is influenced by European antiquities but can incorporate items from further east. This style will usually use historical elements, along with natural materials and colors, and rely heavily on consistency and symmetry.

This is only a guide for you to understand the different style terminology. If you are still unsure what style is right for you, let us help you choose. Splash designers can combine elements to suit your needs.
